Why We Love Students (ok, and graduates!)

Nobody knows the student market quite like us. We have been dealing with students for many years and we can without exception, say, 'we love you all!'

Now you may think we are mad, but we want to help students as much as we can, we do not believe that just because you live off pot noodles and drink snake bite, you should be treated any differently.

We know that being a student is expensive. Many of you will leave University with thousands of pounds worth of debt, and will have to join the property ladder later than most.

We would like to help you find your first home, be it via renting or buying.

As a gesture of our love we want to give you student's a discount, and first year graduates too!

And the best part is that we don’t even want £10 upfront to do so! (NUS Extra sucks!)

Buying as a Student

As a student getting on the property ladder can be difficult. Sorry we are honest at Property Street, I meant to say nigh on impossible!

We understand that finding your first home will mean begging mum or dad for a large deposit, then begging the bank manager for time to clear the overdraft and student loan, then begging anyone who will listen for a mortgage.

Firstly we can help with the mortgage part.

Property Street work along side the family run independent financial advice centre who can search the whole market place to find you a mortgage based upon your income, a joint income, 2 friends buying together, and even up to 4 times individual salaries. They are not tied to a high street lender!

Whatever your circumstance, we will try our very best to find you a lender who will lend you as much money as possible, so you can buy your first home.

We can do this over the phone, or face to face.

Property Street will then scour the property market to find you properties you can afford, using the mortgage you have found, be it a studio flat, or a little house.

Secondly, and as a added bonus, if you buy a house on Property Street's books, we will give you £100 cash back once the sale is completed. All for just being a student!

Renting as a Student

When it comes to living in rented accommodation, we know exactly what it’s like. Many of you will live in halls for the first year and have the time of your life, meeting new people and enjoying the security that halls can bring. Then its time to find a home for the 2nd year. You wait for the accommodation office to produce a list of houses to approach, only to find that there are more students than houses! What do you do next? Many of you will have to use local estate agents that can’t be trusted, and will charge you expensive fees.

As we love students, we will give you 50% off all setup fees to be a tenant! That’s a saving of ….£50, and if your lucky enough to be a landlord we will give you £50 off our Let only, and Let and Rent rates and  1% off our Fully Managed rates

To ensure the highest level of service all students will need to supply the following information before taking a let property:
College reference
Confirmation of the course you are on. How long the course is for and proof of loan if applicable. (Original copy on headed paper will only be acceptable). This can be obtained through the colleges own administration department.
Guarantors
"All students will require a UK based guarantor". We will need the same references on the guarantor as stated below. In addition they will need to sign a deed of guarantee. (Original copy will only be acceptable).
Guarantor’s employer's references
Supplied on headed paper. Reference to incorporate confirmation of permanent position, annual salary and your position held within the company and the term of employment. (Original copy will only be acceptable).
Guarantors payslips
We require your last 3 months payslips.
Self employed guarantor
Accountant reference confirming turnover and net profit, term they have acted for you and if they feel you are in a financial position to meet the rental payment. (Original copy will only be acceptable).

Don’t use a local company who does not care about you, use Property Street. We will ensure we place you with a quality landlord who has been interviewed, make sure that the property has been inspected, and ensure there is buildings insurance in place.
